Writing Tip #28 - NEVER Give Up

Never give up. Never, never never.

You are the only one who can write your story, who can tell it the way you want to. You are the first one to put those specific words in that specific order, and there’s something magical and wonderful and incredible about that.

I have a quote, which is the background of my watch. It’s on my watch because I look at my watch more than my phone, in a standard day. Anyway, that’s not important. The quote says, “Someday you’ll be someone’s favourite author.”

That gives me the motivation to keep writing. Because books were my escape when I needed one, and if I can create that escape for someone else, I’ve done my part as a writer.

So. If you’re writing for the money, for an easy cash flow, look for a different career. Invest in crypto or invent something. Writing is hard, harder than many people know. But it is rewarding, and wonderful. An author creates entire worlds with words, entire worlds that they’ve dreamed up and chosen to share.

Write for your readers, and never, never give up. Because one day, it will all be worth it.
